|Former Apple exec become Entrust CTO
Online ID security company Entrust has appointed Jon Callas as its new chief technology officer.
Callas will be responsible for shaping the direction of new technology and innovation, particularly as the company continues to develop solutions for mobile, as well as logical and physical security.
"Jon's deep understanding of mobile security, coupled with his recognized expertise in growing and leading software businesses make him a natural complement to our organization," said Entrust president and CEO Bill Conner.
Prior to joining Entrust, Callas co-founded PGP Corporation which specialized in email and data encryption software. Over the next fifteen years, he held leadership functions including CTO and CSO. Most recently, he also served as an operating system security expert with Apple. Additionally, he has held leadership positions with corporations including Wave Systems Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Counterpane Internet Security. He has also authored several Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards including OpenPGP, DKIM, and ZRTP.
