Cartes: Increased security but event goes ahead
Organisers promise more checks and personnel after Paris terrorist attacks

Organisers of this week's Cartes Secure Connexions event say it will be going ahead as planned, but with increased security measures.

The reassurances came after the series of co-ordinated terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13 that left at least 129 people dead.

The three-day payments industry event - which is this year rebranding as TrusTech - starts at the Villepinte Parc des Expositions on November 17, and in a statement to delegates organisers said that increased security measures have been put in place and will be maintained throughout the event in order to ensure the "highest security standards" for exhibitors and visitors.

A spokeswoman told Card & Payments World: "We will have more bag checks and security controls as well as more security people at the event."

The organisers have issued a hotline number for anyone wanting more information: +33 (0)1 76 77 11 11.

Card & Payments World will be reporting from the event on all the major news and announcements. We would like to wish everyone attending a productive and safe week.
